Maulana Muhammad Ali did yeoman’s service in bridging the gap between the Islamic world and India by staging the Khilafat Movement and then the first Non-Cooperation Movement. He addressed the All India Congress Committee Meeting at Amritsar in 1919 where he laid the demand for Indian Independence never compromising on anything less then total Independence. He along with Mahatma Gandhi restarted the Non-Cooperation Movement from Aligarh resulting creation of a National University naming it as Jamia Millia Islamiain 1920.

Maulana Muhammad Ali Jauhar will have to remember for his thoughts of fraternity with freedom. Once he said “I had long been convinced that there in this country of hundreds of millions of human beings, intensely attached to the religions, and yet infinitely split up into communities, sects and denominations, providence had created for us the mission of solving a unique problem and working out a new synthesis, which was nothing low than a federation of faith…For more than twenty years I have dreamed the dream of a federation, grander, nobler and infinitely more spiritual than the United States of America, and today when many a Political Cassandra prophesies a return to the bad old days of Hindu-Muslim dissension. I will dream that old dream of “United faiths of India.” Maulana Muhammad Ali Jauhar from the presidential address, I.NC. Session, 1923, Cocanda (now Kakinda).

It is also fact, that we are forgotten Maulana Muhammad Ali Jauhar, who served us with his Poetic, Journalistic pursuit during our freedom struggle. Maulana Muhammad Ali Jauhar Had attended the Round Table Conference held in London during 1930 to plea the relevancies of quit India movement against British Rulers. He speaks in the conference “Give me your declaration to free India, or provide me two yard Land for my Grave, because I preferred to die here in free country than well alive in slave country.” Allah Graced him, that he come die on January 4, 1931 during same London visit. In, Shaping the personal and character of Muhammad Ali, his mother “Bi Amma” played a Islamic concept of love, peace and brotherhood. Married to wife, and amiable companion who helped him in achieving his ideals.

He was buried in Bait-al-Muqaddus, in Jerusalem, Israel, It was a sad history that all the Indian Governments during Post Independents era, has out right neglected him. Indian Muslims was even terrorized remember him with his name during three primary decades for the days of Independent. It was a challenge.
